Thoughts & Prayers

I have wonderful memories of Mary. She always made anyone visiting her home feel at home and insured they left well fed. She had this almost super-woman energy and put it to good use, constantly cleaning and tidying up her home ...inside and out. After her children were raised she went to work at the hospital. She continued to work into her late 80s! I bet she never missed a day.
She did what housewives did in another era. She dutifully served her husband, whom she really adored, and was the devoted, caring mother for her children and then their children. She even cared for and housed her elderly mother and Aunt for years until their deaths. Hers was a story of love and sacrifice for family, friends and neighbors. When I became engaged over 40 years ago, she insisted that I bring my fiancé over for a family dinner. We ate Italian style, “a fuori “ outside in the side yard driveway in the summer evening . We feasted on the food, and enjoyed conversation into the night. It was a thoughtful gesture from a beautiful lady. That’s how I want to remember her.

Peter, Cathy, and family,
Please except our condolences on the passing of your mom. Though she lived a full life, it is never easy to lose your mother, as we well know. Please know that our hearts and prayers are with you all. Love Donna and Manny

When I think of Mary, I see a happy woman with a beautiful smile who loved serving her delicious Italian food in her house and backyard. I was happy to be invited to her home to join in these festive occasions with Pete and Cathy. God Bless you all.
