On Saturday January 16th Judy A. Bellamy-Pate-Holness our amazing wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and dear friend to all passed away at Nassau University Medical Center due to complications of Covid-19.

Judy was born in Gamboa, Panama Canal Zone on May 23, 1943. She is the first born of the late Gladstone and Ruby Bellamy.

She was educated in the Panama Canal Zone education system, which included Gamboa Elementary School, Paraiso Junior ‘High and she graduated from Paraiso High School with the class of 1962.

Judy migrated to Brooklyn, New York in which she later met and united in holy matrimony to the late Stanley A. Pate. From that union they had two children Stanicia and Stanley Jr.

Judy worked in the financial district for several companies, but her sole desire from young was to become a nurse.  After the birth of her third child, Nigel Lawrence, she went to College for nursing and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). With her eyes on the prize Judy started working at St Mary’s hospital and continue her studies to become a Registered Professional Nurse (RN)

A dedicated and devoted nurse who passionately cared about her coworkers and patients the exact same way she cared about her family. After twenty something years of service in 2008 Judy retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital.

In 2016 she married her twin flame, Vernon Holness aka Buddy.  Together they loved to travel extensively and go out at all times for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Judy took full advantage in living her absolute best life. At any given time if you called Judy she and Buddy just might be in Atlantic City.

Family meant the world to Judy. She loved to cook & bake and her famous pineapple upside down cake was her signature dessert that everyone would die for. An extremely helpful and generous soul, Judy was always willing to reach out and give a helping hand.

Judy loved spending quality time with family especially with her two youngest grandchildren Kyree and Jay’Lynn. This amazing queen, Wife, Mother, Sister, Cousin, Co-worker and Dear friend to all will be deeply missed.
