Joseph T. Grunwald, 99, of Lecanto, Florida and formerley of Baldwin, New York passes away peacefully on December 5, 2015 at Hospice of Citrus & The Nature Coast in Lecanto, FL. Mr. Grunwald was born Dec 8, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Joseph and Mary (Brandejsky) Grunwald. He previously resided on Long Island, NY and retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a Branch Supervisor in the North Baldwin Post Office. He was of the Catholic Faith. For 77 years, he was a member and Ex-Captain of the Baldwin Fire Department, Hose Company Three, always speaking with pride of this 33 years of active service. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, boating and bowling, always exhibiting a great sense of humor. He is survived by 2 sons, Richard Grunwald and his wife Suzanne Evenson of Inverness; Lawrence Grunwald of Apopka, FL; his brother, Walter Grunwald; 7 grandchildren, Kristin, Keith, Laura, Kevin, Michael, Tony, and Beth. He also had 16 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Marjorie (Hults) Grunwald and his daughter, Marjorie Jenson. Reposing at the Fullerton Funeral Home, Inc., 769 Merrick Road, Baldwin, New York on Sunday, December 13, 2015 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Deacon Service on Sunday, December 13, 2015, 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment on Monday, December 14, 2015 at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cutchogue, New York (Leaving the funeral home at approximately 10:00 a.m.).
