John Catalano, 95, born April 20, 1923 in Brooklyn, New York passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2018. Attended Franklin K. Lane High School.  Proud Veteran serving in the U.S. Army during WWII in South Pacific, Philippines.  Joined New York City Police Department in 1947, Patrolman, retired in 1966. Worked at Royal Globe Insurance Corp. as Case Coordinator and Adjustor from 1967-1986, retired. Resident of Baldwin, New York since 1953. Sports enthusiast played high-school basketball, softball, golf, and tennis. Winter resident of Bird Bay Village in Venice, Florida from 1986-2006.

Pre-deceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Barbara (nee Traynor). Survived by his devoted daughter Marianne, 68, who oversaw his home-care since 2011.  Also, by his son John, 65, a Deacon in the ADNY, and beloved daughter-in-law, Josephine, of Pelham, New York.  Also, by his loving daughter Joan, 62, of Levittown, New York. Survived also by 3 grandchildren, Angela, 28, Christina 26, and Joseph, 20.

Reposing at the Fullerton Funeral Home, Inc., 769 Merrick Road, Baldwin, New York. Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, August 7, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin, New York. Interment to follow at Calverton National Cemetery. Visiting on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
