August 15, 1953 - May 28, 2020

Gladys Marcelin-Lachaud, 66, of Hempstead, New York passed away on May 28, 2020. Beloved wife and mother. Reposing at the Fullerton Funeral Home, Inc., 769 Merrick Road, Baldwin, New York on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Private Cremation. 

Gladys's spirit transitioned on Thursday, May 28 2020. 

Gladys is being celebrated for her unyielding effort to aid her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and associates. Born in Port au Prince, Haiti, Gladys was born to Lorette Guerrie and Saveruis Marceline . The only child on her mother's side. Her beginnings in Haiti reinforced her strong personality, sharp wit, and amazing perseverance. As a young adult, she earned a living as a Seamstress and merchant in Haiti. In 1985, Through her struggles and hard work, she saved enough money to travel to America. 

Upon her arrival to America, she worked in a factory sewing bed sheets and comforters. Along the way, Gladys achieved a certificate in English as a Second language. Her ambition led her to use her talents to care for ailing individuals as a home health aide. To many, Gladys was considered Chief Chef renowned for various naturally prepared entrees. Her greatest joy as an herbalist was witnessing the healing of her audience with Medicine through food, which is the principle she practiced every day. Those that fell ill needed shelter from the rain or suffered from hunger and joblessness, Gladys answered the call without reservations. After a long tremendous career of healing, she retired and extended her love for healing to the children of Star Bright Child Care. There she became a grandma not only to her biological grandchildren but to all the children whom she provided catered menu and ample love and hugs. Gladys lived a life of servitude and love for people. 

In her transition, Gladys leaves, in grace, her treasured daughters Cathia Brunache and Fabiola Turner. Her most endearing rewards, her grandchildren William Latham Jr, Jason Turner Jr, Isabella Turner, Julien Turner, and Victoria Turner.
