I took Mr. Russell's Creative Writing class 35 years ago and saved some of the papers he graded in green ink. He was such a special person, so gentle and kind. I loved that he sometimes played music in our class. I'm a better person for having been his student.

I'll always remember Mr. Russell as a quiet, reserved, and very thoughtful person. I liked him very much. My condolences.

I'm one of Mr.Russell's former students. I graduated from WHS in 1979 and believe it or not, everytime I see a tan Volkswagon Beetle, it makes me think of Mr. Russell, the gentle soul. He was admired by many and will be sorely missed. Please know my prayers are with you and your family at this difficult time....
