Edward J. Stroschein, 82, of Baldwin, NY passed away on July 1, 2013. Beloved husband of Marijane. Loving father of  Mariel Prawzinsky (Adam), Elaine Lockard (Chuck), Nancy Cox (Jim) and Barbara Kellogg (John). Cherished grandfather of Hanna, Becca, and Nelson Prawzinsky, Chris, Johnny and Jaime Lockard and Nora, Jeffrey and Molly Cox. Also survived by his brother Joe. Air force Pilot and Veteran of the Korean War. Met his wife in the Air Force and they were married and lived in Japan for a year before settling in Oceanside and Baldwin, NY. He was a Chief Pilot, General Manager of Flying for TWA. He was the first recipient of the Wright Brothers Award for 50 years of uninterrupted flying. After compulsory retirement at age 60, he was invited to sit on the other side of the table with the FAA as a pilot inspector. He was also a first responder on 9/11. Most recently, he was a docent at the Cradle of Aviation in Garden City. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served as an usher at St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin. Reposing at the Fullerton Funeral Home, Inc., 769 Merrick Rd., Baldwin, NY on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. (fullertonfhny.com). K of C service Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday 10:45 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Church in Baldwin. Private Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org), would be appreciated.
