Alfred William Musella, 84, of Rockville Centre, NY passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 surrounded by his family. “Al” Musella, son of William and Anna (Casale) Musella passed away at his home after a long battle with dementia. He was born on November 3, 1931 in Red Hook, Brooklyn and was the second youngest of six sons. Al was predeceased by his first wife, Carmela Castro, his parents, and his brothers. He is survived by his wife Susan Herbert, his daughters Joan (William Ketler), Linda (James Keane), Janice (Robert Geisel), Susan (Francesco Polizzi), and Anne, as well as his 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Al worked a variety of jobs until his retirement at the age of 51, when he was able to focus his time on his true passion, his family. Throughout his illness, he maintained his sense of humor, often cracking jokes with his wife and other family members. Reposing at the Fullerton Funeral Home, 769 Merrick Rd, Baldwin, NY on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St Christopher Church in Baldwin, NY, on Tuesday at 9:45 a.m.; and visitation will be held at the Musella residence on Wednesday from 2-8pm. His family asks that mourners contribute to Metropolitan Jewish Health System Hospice ( in lieu of flowers.
